Trip to Singapore

This whole trip is completely outside of my comfort zone.
My first time abroad. Don’t know if I would be willing to remember it.
Spent too much time runing from one conference room to another. I was so tired that I could not even remember what I was doing. and of course I was not able to enjoy the city.

To catch the 9 a.m. airplane, I had to get up at 4 a.m. I was so grumpy and twisted that I hoped the airplane would crash. (some horrific thoughts, I know)

The afternoon we arrived, after having something to eat at a 7/11, we went to ride the Luge. The weather was so hot and humid that I felt like I was melting.

We went to the beach at night. Some people were swimming in the pool. I was standing on the beach, feeling the sand and the wind. I felt lonely somehow.

A bikini bar on the beach. The neon lights were beautiful. felt like I was in a movie.

Just like the depth and the shadow in the scene. Nothing special.

The welcome reception at first night. I met a Chinese guy now pursuing his Ph.D. in the U.K. He talked a lot.

Felt sick somehow and got away in the middle of dinner. I saw a boat at riverside.

Pancake stall at vivo city.

Sneak out of the gala dinner and went to the riverside. I remmembered that I asked for a cigarette from a stranger on my way out. Felt like mint.

Many rubber ducks in the sink.

No entry. I was standing in front of the gate, looking at the sign.

It seems so reluctent. On the flight back to Shanghai, person sitting next to me was from SJTU. He told me that his collegues designed the mascot of the event.

A life saver. It's getting darker.

At gala dinner. It was so loud. I had to went out of the room before anything is served.

I took this snapshot on an elevator. The dinning tables were set up for guests.

I don't know what it sells. Maybe popsticks?

Gin tonics. Sitting alone in the corner of the bar. Outside was the beach.
The second day at conference, I met an old classmate at poster session. It was really a surprise. We went out for breakfast the last day and she took me around the city a little bit.

Last day in Singapore. Got up early and had breakfast with an acquaintance. It was so sugary.

You have to pay attention where you are. The bus would not stop unless you press the button. But the station names look so similar.

Merlion. Many people were taking photos. The 9 a.m. sun was already unbearable.

On a bridge. White lanterns(?) and blue sky.

The square in front of the arthouse. We went inside to avoid the sun.

Don't really understand what that means. But the light was beautiful.

I really appreciate that she took me out of the sentosa island. I've been stuck there for 3 days.

Litterally the NATIONAL metro.
